A contact point for Czech-Swiss cultural projects
The branch office of the Arts Council of Switzerland Pro Helvetia in the Czech Republic is located in the Theatre Institute in the historic centre of Prague, heart of the city's cultural life.
Pro Helvetia Prague supports and co-ordinates cultural projects and promotes cultural exchange between the Czech Republic and Switzerland. Particular emphasis is placed on projects in the fields of theatre, dance, photography, the visual arts, the New Media, music and literature that possess the potential to intensify contacts between the two countries.
Pro Helvetia Prague serves as an exchange, mediation and information point for Czech and Swiss cultural producers. Its aim is to awaken reciprocal interest in each other's artistic projects and to promote cultural understanding between the two cultures.
A further objective is to strengthen links among the Visegrad countries themselves. To this end Pro Helvetia Prague works closely with Pro Helvetia's branch offices in Slovakia, Hungary and Poland, and supports projects that encourage cultural contacts between the Visegrad countries and Switzerland.
